Havana Nights

Every year the RCYC hosts a summer ball. It’s one of the more intensive projects I did over the course of my tenure there. This particular year the convener of the event choose the theme Havana Nights.

There are many elements to be created for this event: posters, digital banners, menus, and centerpieces to name a few. When meeting with the convener we discuss the look and feel of the event that they want. For the posters, we discussed a warm night with Cuban music and classic cars. I created the poster based on these ideas, using warm colours to depict the heat of a summer Havana night.

For the night of the event, the convenor requested more greens to bring in the palm tree motif. So, for the menus and table numbers, we used palms in the background design. A signature cocktail was created for the event by the head bartender and I worked with the convener to create a different look for the signage to be presented on the bar.
